The 2 Chainz album Playaz Only Live Once, a full-length collaboration produced entirely by Statik Selektah, is scheduled for release on Friday, December 4.
Playaz Only Live Once is built on a simple, appealing tension: an Atlanta trap star with a designer vocabulary, rapping over the dusty, sample-driven boom-bap of a producer raised on hip-hop’s golden era. The two confirmed previews show the range. On “A Week In Paris,” 2 Chainz turns a seven-day European run into effortless, luxury-laced storytelling over a laid-back Statik Selektah groove. On “Pops,” the same pairing slows down for grief, memory and the lessons of his late father. Between those poles — celebration and reflection, gloss and grain — the album promises some of the sharpest, most personal writing of 2 Chainz’s long career.
The announcement arrived with new music. “A Week In Paris,” released October 30, is the latest single from the album, and it leans into the high-end travel and signature style that have long been part of the 2 Chainz persona.
The road to the album ran through 2026. “Pops,” his tribute to his late father, landed in April. “Reign” followed in September, with Cash Cobain on the hook and Young Nudy alongside 2 Chainz over Statik Selektah production built around 21st Century’s “Remember the Rain.”

The pairing itself is not new. 2 Chainz and Statik Selektah have worked together for nearly a decade, back to 2016’s “Smoke Break,” and HYPE caught both men on the same bill in Detroit this past May, with Statik hosting and 2 Chainz headlining.
The album also follows a milestone outside music. It follows the release of 2 Chainz’s memoir, The Voice In My Head Is God, which reached No. 1 on The New York Times Nonfiction Best Seller list.
Physical editions are already up for pre-order and follow on January 22, 2027: a 2xLP gatefold edition with insert on black vinyl, an indie-exclusive clear splatter 2xLP limited to 1,000 copies, and a cassette, with a CD edition also listed. Retail listings credit the album to Million Dollar Habit.
