$8.1 million going to 4 Alabama universities, research institution for high-tech projects

Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded $8.1 million in grants to Alabama universities and research institutions for projects ranging from cancer research and artificial intelligence to construction, agriculture and aerospace.

Four universities and the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville will receive funding through 20 Alabama Research and Development Enhancement Fund grants.
