The City of Mobile launched a new initiative Wednesday encouraging residents and visitors to redirect their assistance for homeless individuals through nonprofit organizations rather than giving cash directly.
Signs are being placed throughout the city urging the public to support organizations equipped to provide long-term stability for people experiencing homelessness, according to a news release.
