The University of Montevallo ended its budget deficit after the board of trustees approved additional changes to athletics and academics.
After program cuts, layoffs and a tuition hike, the final casualties of the $8 million shortfall were the tennis and swimming programs that the board approved unanimously to discontinue on Friday.
