The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has clarified that driver license eligibility requirements for students subject to school disciplinary actions remain unchanged, despite recent public confusion.
According to the release, the confusion stemmed from House Bill 33, which proposed reducing the age threshold for certain driver license eligibility provisions from 19 years to 17 years during the 2026 regular legislative session.
