Alabama’s congressional delegation has asked President Donald Trump to quickly approve Gov. Kay Ivey’s request for a major disaster declaration following Hurricane Isaias, which killed two people and left hundreds of thousands without power.
U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., led the delegation in sending a letter Saturday supporting Ivey’s request for federal assistance in 23 counties affected by the storm, according to a news release from her office.
