Alabama part of multi-million dollar settlement over excessive financial fees

Alabama is one of seven states involved in a $4.4 million settlement with three financial institutions over what investigators call unreasonable commissions on small-dollar transactions.

The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) reached the settlement with Wells Fargo Clearing Services, Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network and Merrill Lynch.
