Alabama Port Authority reports record profits, credits deeper ship channel

A large contingent of state, local and federal dignitaries gathered on the Mobile waterfront on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, to celebrate the completion of a project to widen and deepen the ship channel that connects the Port of Mobile to the Gulf.

The Alabama Port Authority says the deepening of the Mobile Ship Channel contributed to a 20% increase in revenue over the last year.
