Alabama schools increase security as ‘Cat in the Hat’ social media threat trend spreads

Social media threats targeting students and schools in Walker County have prompted increased security measures and warnings from law enforcement as a nationwide internet trend spreads to Alabama.

The Walker County School System wrote in a post to Facebook Monday that it received social media threats against students at Cordova High, Oakman Middle and Parrish schools.
