Alabama woman who threw newborn into trash compactor avoids death penalty

An Alabama woman who threw her newborn baby into the trash compactor has pleaded guilty in the infant’s death.

Jakayla Ashanti Williams, now 21, pleaded guilty this week in Houston County to capital murder of a child under the age of 14.
