Birmingham invests $3.5 million in early literacy and school readiness program

The Birmingham City Council approved $3.5 million in funding on Tuesday for Small Magic, an early learning program that aims to expand early childhood education and literacy programs in the city.

The investment gives Small Magic $3.5 million for a one-year term and will provide enrichment opportunities for Birmingham children from birth through age 5.
