Comedian, actor and producer Lil Duval is taking his talents behind the camera and taking control of how his next project reaches audiences.
Building on the momentum of his acting career, Duval is stepping into a new lane as executive producer and star of the horror-comedy, “Camp Duval: Ain’t Nobody Dying Today,” an independently driven film that pairs his signature comedic voice with an unexpected twist on the horror genre. Bypassing the traditional Hollywood playbook, Duval is embracing an agile, direct-to-consumer distribution model designed to bring the film straight to his audience, on his own terms.
Duval’s blueprint for independent film distribution combines an exclusive six-city interactive tour, which will make its way to Birmingham on September 24. Duval’s stop in Birmingham will include a live podcast recording from 3 to 4 p.m. at Yo Mama’s, 2024 4th Avenue North, followed by a screening of Camp Duval at Premiere Cinemas, 500 Lakeshore Parkway in Birmingham.
“Camp Duval: Ain’t Nobody Dying Today” will be available on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and CampDuval.com in time for Halloween.
“I just wanted to make something that felt like me; funny, crazy, unexpected and something people can actually have a good time watching,” said Lil Duval. “I’ve been entertaining people my whole career, so producing a movie felt like the next evolution. We made the movie, we made it our way, and now we’re taking it straight to the people. That’s really what Camp Duval is about — having fun, doing it on your own terms and, most importantly, ain’t nobody dying today!”
