Construction of $1.25 billion Alabama prison named for Kay Ivey faces another delay

Alabama is requiring the contractor building a 4,000-bed prison in Elmore County to possibly add more workers and shifts to the jobsite because of indications the project might not be finished on time.

The Gov. Kay Ivey Correctional Complex, estimated to cost about $1.25 billion, has a targeted completion date of Oct. 15.
