One of the nation’s best-known election forecasters no longer considers Alabama’s race for governor a sure thing for Republicans.
Sabato’s Crystal Ball moved the contest between Republican U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville and Democrat Doug Jones from “Safe Republican” to “Likely Republican” Thursday, citing two recent polls that put Tuberville’s lead at just over 10 percentage points.
