Grocery costs remained flat in August, but are still more expensive in 2026

Grocery prices didn’t change much overall for the month of August, according to the latest data provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). From July 2026 to August 2026, food at home costs (groceries) remained flat, but from August 2025 to August 2026, groceries are up by 2.2%.
