Gun found in preschooler’s backpack at Birmingham’s Levite Jewish Community Center

Birmingham’s Levite Jewish Community Center notified parents and staff in an email Friday that a firearm was discovered in a student’s backpack on campus.

The incident occurred in the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School building, which currently houses classrooms for Ilanot preschool, a Cohn Early Childhood Learning Center program.
