Health insurance sticker shock: Some Alabamians will pay 30% more this year

As open enrollment begins, Alabamians can expect higher health insurance costs for the coming year, with some Affordable Care Act plans increasing by more than 30%.

In Alabama, there are four health insurance companies with plans available on the ACA marketplace. And every one is reporting higher rates for 2027.
