Home prices climb in 80% of US metro areas as buyers face mixed affordability signals

Home prices increased in 80% of metro markets for the second quarter of 2026 as affordability concerns continue to weigh on buyers. Data released Tuesday by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) show the share of markets experiencing price increases is up from 71% in the first quarter.
