Inmate found dead in cell at Jefferson County Jail in Bessemer

An inmate at the Jefferson County Jail in Bessemer was found dead in his cell.

The inmate’s name is being withheld pending notification of his family, but the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said he was a 59-year-old white male.
