Joyland Birmingham has permanently closed its doors after 2 years

Joyland, a retro fast-food restaurant from Nashville chef Sean Brock, opened a Birmingham location on Aug. 15, 2024, in the former Rodney Scott's Whole Hog BBQ space at 3719 Third Ave. South in Avondale. The colorful mural on the east wall of the restaurant is by Birmingham artist Marcus Fetch.

Another Alabama restaurant has shuttered following the fallout of the Pihakis Restaurant Group lawsuits.
