In July, 28 Jefferson County food establishments failed their health inspections, the most recorded in a month so far in 2026.
Among the infractions cited by county health inspectors were roaches, flies, gnats, mold, grime and food out of temperature, among others, according to recent Jefferson County Department of Health records.
