Mississippi men plead guilty in street race that killed teen on I-459 in hoover

Tyrique M. Carter, 24, of Byram, Miss., and Elisha Jamal Lindsey, 25, of Jackson, Miss., pleaded guilty in 2026 to reckless murder in the Feb. 9, 2024, death of 19-year-old Tamarion Buton, also of Mississippi.

Two Mississippi men have pleaded guilty in a deadly street-racing crash on Interstate 459 in Hoover that left their friend dead.
