Mobile $3.2 billion I-10 project clears another hurdle as construction operations begin

A construction staging area is getting assembled for the future Interstate 10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project south of downtown Mobile, Ala., along Royal Street and adjacent to where the SS United States is currently docked. The project's contractor's are Kiewett Massman, Traylor and construction on the $3.2 billion bridge construction and Bayway restriping project is expected to commence before Halloween 2026.

At $3.2 billion, the Interstate 10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project is one of the largest infrastructure endeavors in Alabama history.
