Mykeshia Myles Jones won the election for assistant tax collector for the Bessemer division of Jefferson County making her the first Black woman to ever hold the seat.
In her second time running since 2024, Myles Jones, earned 52.76% of the votes for the seat, beating out incumbent Ron Marshall, who garnered 47.24% of the votes in the primary runoff.
