New app aims to prevent hot car deaths in Alabama

Screenshots of the W.I.N.S. app show its back seat alert feature, vaccine reminder system and safe sleep education tools. The free app is available in 10 Wiregrass region counties as part of a pilot program.

Two infants have already died in hot cars in Alabama this year, prompting state health officials to launch a mobile app designed to prevent such tragedies in the Wiregrass region.
