New process gives data center contracts automatic approval if PSC fails to vote in 90 days

Alabama utility regulators approved a new process Tuesday for reviewing future Alabama Power contracts with large data centers.

The process requires more information about the projects to become public while still allowing a contract to take effect automatically if the Public Service Commission fails to vote on them within 90 days.
