Owens Cross Roads voting on tax increase for ‘organizationally deficient’ fire department

Residents of Owens Cross Roads will soon vote on raising taxes to help fund the town’s fire department.

The referendum for the additional 3-mill ad valorem tax is set for Oct. 13 at Owens Cross Roads City Hall. Absentee voting starts Sept. 15. Revenue from the tax would be dedicated exclusively to fire protection services.
