Pentagon awards almost $2 billion in health care contracts covering 175,000 people

The Defense Health Agency on Sept. 30 awarded one-year contract extensions worth $1.85 billion to six healthcare companies, for comprehensive health care services through the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan, a managed care plan.
