Gulf Shores (2-0) travels to face Saraland (1-0) at 7 p.m. tonight in a Class 5A Region 1 opener that pits the Dolphins’ hot start against one of the most dominant home programs in the AHSAA. The Spartans own the state’s longest active home winning streak at 41 games and have won 11 consecutive meetings against Gulf Shores, including a 43-14 victory last season in which Saraland pulled away in the second half.
