As the SEC prepares to go to court in Louisiana later this week to fight a court order that would allow at least one of its member schools to sign former NFL players, conference members’ plan of attack appears to be taking shape.
According to a report Monday by Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger, “high-ranking SEC university executives” are considering “extreme measures” against LSU, which appears set to sign NFL castoffs Dae’Quan Wright and Xzavian Harris to its 2026 roster. Among the possibilities are boycotting games against the Tigers, SEC probation or expulsion and/or filing a federal legal challenge. (According to Dellenger’s report, the potential action is viewed as “not league driven, but membership led.”)
