Testing required in some areas of Alabama during deer season

Hunters who harvest deer in northwest Alabama’s Chronic Wasting Disease Management Zone will be required to submit their animals for testing during designated weekends of the 2026-27 deer season under state regulations aimed at monitoring the spread of the fatal disease.
