The beignet restaurant that's quietly taking over the Southeast is coming to Birmingham

An abandoned Hero Diner sits to the side of the sign welcoming people to Valley Post.

Inside, blue cushioned chairs are stacked atop Formica tables, a handful of booths empty to the side. A sign is taped to the door reading “Temporarily Closed,” despite first closing back in April as the Pihakis Restaurant Group cratered, filing for bankruptcy after owing millions in overdue rent and unpaid bills.
