Troy coach Gerad Parker didn’t wonder why his offense was struggling in Saturday’s 41-17 loss to Louisiana Tech at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
“I guarantee you we were third and seven-plus more than we weren’t,” he said. “You can’t convert third downs that way. It’s too hard. And we lost our run game. Normally, our run RPO game is really good to us. If you don’t have a run game or an RPO game that is having any value statistically to gain yards and be positive, you’re not going to be good on third down.”
