More details have emerged about what began as a potential explosives scare at the Gulf Shores International Airport and ended with the recovery of five cannonballs stolen from historic Fort Morgan, according to transportation security officials.
The discovery occurred July 18, according to a release by the TSA. The cannonballs were different sizes, with the larger ones about the size of grapefruits and weighing about the same as a small shot put, according to Lead TSA Officer Justin Dupree.
