The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 7:36 a.m. on Wednesday for strong thunderstorms until 8:15 a.m. for Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan and Jackson counties.
Residents can be ready for wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
