The Latin GRAMMY-Nominated Venezuelan Artist Opens a New, Romantic Chapter
‘Yorghaki Catira’ marks the latest release from Latin GRAMMY-nominated Venezuelan artist, producer and singer-songwriter Yorghaki. Embracing his romantic side, the track marks the beginning of his lover boy era, introducing a new chapter centered on love, connection and emotional expression.
Drawing inspiration from the Venezuelan term “catira,” which translates to “blonde,” the single serves as a playful and romantic dedication to blonde women. Yorghaki spent the past several weeks teasing “Catira” across social media, and this past weekend he surprised attendees with a live performance of the unreleased track alongside DJs Mazzarri and Puche at the dscntrl party in Miami, offering fans an exclusive first listen ahead of its official debut.
The new single follows a series of milestones for Yorghaki throughout 2023. Earlier this year, he unveiled his album Antes De Que Sea Tarde, a ten-track project embracing live instrumentation, Caribbean influences and a deeply personal approach to songwriting. He also joined forces with LAGOS for the collaborative single “Tal Vez Mañana” earlier this summer, and made his mark in fashion at Paris Fashion Week, where he was present at events with brands including AMIRI, Off-White, KENZO and Blue Marble.
Born in Valencia, Venezuela, Yorghaki began writing music at just 14 years old. His breakout hit “capaz (merenguetón)” earned a nomination for the Latin Grammy Awards and helped propel the global resurgence of the “merenguetón” movement. The track has amassed more than 750 million streams across platforms. In 2025, Yorghaki made his debut on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and was named one of Billboard’s “Latin Artists on the Rise,” before also being featured on the publication’s “26 Latin Artists to Watch in 2026.” He has also earned a Premio Juventud win for “Tropical Mix,” with collaborations including Danny Ocean, HUGEL, and Mau y Ricky.
